Lohman Learning Community
A Unique Experience for Freshmen
The Lohman Learning Community gives freshmen in the College of Education and Human Development the opportunity to experience class work at Texas A&M in a new and exciting way. Every freshman enrolled in the traditional teacher preparation curriculum is invited to participate in this innovative program. Learning Community participants build camaraderie with fellow students, form close bonds with faculty and develop successful study habits.
Students take two courses together during the fall and spring semesters of their freshman year and receive supplemental instruction in biology and math. These shared academic experiences allow participants to build natural study partners and help make large classes feel more personal. Students in a learning community also participate in social activities and agree to serve as college ambassadors, promoting the College of Education and Human Development in high schools during their sophomore year.
